I developed it way long ago, but submitted it recently.
This addon will help you to download RapidShare (RS) links from office or any other location where RS is blocked from proxy but internet speed is good.
This addon converts all RS's mirror links (rs*.rapidshare.com) to IP then downloads using those IPs. If you are not in restricted internet LAN, you can also use this addon to automate whole RS download links process.
It handles all timer management that occurs while downloading from RS as a free user, like 1. please wait around XX minutes, 2. download will start after XX seconds. All these will show on the right label after rapid button.
Its good to use a download manager addon (like Down Them All), but its NOT dependent on any other addon. After installation, a textbox will appear in toolbar where RS links should be given & then press the rapid button.
Multiple valid RS links can be given in the box, each will be processed one by one, i.e. when first link will be finished downloading, second one will be started after that & so on. This is done in version 1.1. If anyone is downloading from the same IP, this will also be shown on the right label after rapid button.

ReplyDeletei hope its possible to extend this addon for premium users too. in fact, when i first built it(for me), its for premium users only. but it has one hard coded value(for cookie). so i need to automate this whole process to get the cookie value which is set when the premium user login to RS. i started to change the addon for this but the main problem is now i dont have any RS premium user/pass to test it for the whole process. so pls let me know if you can help me with that.

i am having trouble with the rapidshare addon.
ReplyDelete1. when i copy and paste a link in the box, nothing appears but if i select the text by ctrl+a, i see some blue lines showing that there is something, then when i click the icon next to the box, it says "all links must be rapidshare" and doesn't works
2. when i manually type the whole link, the text does appears, after clicking the icon it seems to be doing something, but comes back with an error saying file is not present.
any ideas/suggestions, please?
am using firefox 3.0.5 at work and rapidshare is blocked here.

ReplyDelete1.this problem may occur because the URL(s) you are copying may be ended with a newline, so you just saw a blank line after copying. you can press backspace to see if you can see those copied links. you can also scroll through your copied RS URLs/links by the up or down arrow key.
please be sure that there are now leading or trailing white spaces(newlines, tabs, spaces) in copied RS links.
"all links must be rapidshare" will appear if any link that you copied does not contain rapidshare.com i.e. any link that is NOT valid RS link. As i guess, you are copying with blank new lines which is not a valid RS link, thats why this alert is showing.
2.the RS link that you are trying to download may be removed, so please be sure about that also. just place the IP 195.122.131.2 in place of rapidshare.com of your RS links, then try it in your browser URL bar.

Multiple valid RS links is not working.....example...when it shows your ip is downloading....i pasted few rs links one at a time and clicked on arrow....all of them together appeared with lastone started downloading and the rest showing your ip is downloading....can anyone help how to feed multiple links so that it waits after one file is downloaded and wait for the waiting time and starts second....

ReplyDeleteone thing i should mention that "your ip is downloading..." this message is shown from RS when any other person from your ISP having same real IP as yours, is downloading something from RS. and when the addon found this message from RS, it retries after sometime(configurable from options) to check that whether the download is finished. so all you need to do is just wait, the addon will do all these tasks for you.

Dear Raat...Can I input multiple rapidshare links for a night and leave so that one by one it will download by morning? No one else other than me downloads from rapidshare....only problem for me is waiting time after each download....If there is a way to input links so that one after other links operate sequentially....This will help a lot as I can just paste multiple links before leaving and by morning I will have a number of downloads.....otherwise this is an excellent tool for individual link downloads.....thanks a lot for this wonderful tool which solved my problems at school...
ReplyDeleteoff course you can download multiple RS links from this addon. waiting time that you're facing is incorporated by RS, usually its 15 min, if u start downloading a new one just after u finished another one. but this all are handled by this addon to automate the whole RS download process. now if u r getting download prompt & auto save checkbox is disabled, then this is a problem & for the solution u can go through the review page

If I am pasting first one and clicking the button...it says 'download prompt will appear within few seconds' and after few seconds download starts....Now I want to input rest of 4 links and go home...the problem is when i input the second, it says your ip is downloading (which is obvious as first one is being downloaded) and then once the download ends it says wait for 15 min and then starts downloading the second which is cool....As you said we can input number of links and it will sequentially download one after other, I tried to paste second link during downloading of first link and pressed the button....it said 'your ip is downloading....wait'...then I pasted the third and pressed the button and did the same for 4th and 5th links.....but after the end of waiting period after downloading the first link, four tabs are opened with the fifth link downloading and the second, third and fourth links showing that your IP is downloading (rapidshare site)....your addon is not remembering the second to fourth links after downloading the fifth link....is there any way to handle this situation....Literally by the morning I have only two downloads the first and the last....
just copy all RS links, press the button & go to home.
ReplyDeletewhile downloading don't copy other RS links & don't press the button. while downloading, if u find some more links to download, then u need to wait until the current download is finished. then copy new links + the prev links thats not downloaded ago. so all u need to do is just collect all RS links that u need to download before then copy it & press the button.
don't use it like DAP & flashget tool, i hope i'll try to add this kindda feature to it.

ReplyDeleteI have a problem with rapid.'s ip address. I think you have hard coded rapidshare.com's ip address as 195.122.131.2. But the IP address may also have been blocked.
There are many other servers of RS, and each of them can also handle links.
If you would support a list of something we can fill in, the user may enter the possible RS IPs to the list; so the addon tries to reach the file with any of the IPs. This may work. Thanks
Cool addon, tho doesn't work properly.. only thing installed is firebug.. also the hide/unhide function (F12) doesn't work either, since firebug takes that up as well.. maybe give the option to allow you to set your own key combination?

ReplyDeletei know all 600 the RS's mirror IP address (rs*.rapidshare.com), but i used the first one to get the first page of the download link & start processing from this page. does your ISP blocks this IP too? then there's a possibility that your ISP also knows all these 600 IP & also blocked those. please check which one is free, if any & then put it in the hard coded value, then it will work for you. i'm not sure about taking IP input from users.

this addon is superb. it even allow me to send the real link to be downloaded via DownloadThemAll, previously if download directly, it will prompt temporary error inside DTA window.

Would love to see an add-on that enhances this one with individual proxy assignment and ip renewal for each download link. This would of course allow concurrent downloads as a free user. Is that request too much or just a hack?

Even I also use multiple proxy,but i used it or change IP after one download is finished,so tht i dont have to wait default 15 min to start downloading the next one.ur idea is great,now free user can download simaltaneously.but they need to be sure that each proxy uses different real IP to connect internet. I have the rapidshare url in the space provided, and where there previously was "press F12 to hide" etc., it has just been replaced with "loading...please wait" after pressing the rapidshare button. I suspect it may be because I'm using university halls internet, so next question would be, if you could possibly make a version that would work on a university network? Thanks

this addon is not developed for only restricted office internet LAN, its applicable for any restricted internet LAN, so in university LAN it should also work as same.
@ victor: i got a solution for file autosave problem, it will be added in code soon. meanwhile u can check the addon page review, some solved it manually. i'll just add this technique to code & test if it works. thanks to him.
@ midho: if u know how to code FF addon, then u should know tht all FF addons are open soource & u should also know where those code exists in filesystem. so u can use it to update it for premium users. if u make it happen then let me know, so tht i can add it to this addon & everyone can enjoy tht feature also.

once i reload the page the download pop-up appear & doing this for every download link is a big problem
i didn't had this problem in earlier version of this addon, so i suppose there is a small miss in coding this one (by the way i am using firefox 3.0.8 with java SE6 U12)

Captchas should be entered manually but the main process could run in the background (with the converted IPs)...

I am also having the same problem. ISP hasn't blocked the IP. http://195.122.131.2/ works fine, but timeout error in loading if URL is http://rs1.rapidshare.com/

i also tried to make it work, but it depends on cookie, so it needs small manual work. i developed it & can give it to the site, but instead of giving username, password; users need to give the cookie value.

When I am downloading big files from rapidshare, my download speed gets very weak at the end, decreases to 5-6 kb/sn (which should be around 300kb/sn). When the download is finished, the rar file gets corrupted. Is it because of my connection, ISP or about something with this mozilla extension.
